It's surprising that the game will be bundled with Nvidia cards, especially as the last Tomb Raider game was heavily marketed for AMD cards because of its TressFX - sexy, physics-enabled hair strands - capabilites.Īccording to a Tumblr post containing an interview with game director Brian Horton, it seems like Rise of the Tomb Raider will continue using TressFX, although he does say they plan to improve the tech, so it's open to interpretation.
The free game will come with any of the following cards: GeForce GTX 970, 980, 980 Ti, GTX 970M, GTX 980M, GTX 980 (Mobility). Between January 7 and February 23, a range of Nvidia graphics cards will be purchasable along with a free copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider.
